MELOJA is a maasai word that means truthful or plentiful and CLEMENCY is another word for charity.
And to us it means:
M for Mercy
Lo for Love
JA for Justice in Action
James Nkuito - CEO Meloja Clemency
1. Transform indigenous lifestyles and restore hope
2. Support education in Maasai Land
3. Help a whole society by donating a borehole
Having grown up on this land, it is deeply unsettling to stand by and witness a community on the brink of extinction. Therefore, I resolved to take action and dedicate myself to supporting the Maasai community.
»imedany orkimojino obo e Lashei«
The Maasai proverb "imedany orkimojino obo e Lashei" speaks of unity, team work and togetherness
From 2016, I attended public meetings, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) advocacy networks and I got platforms to speak about the problems that subject our community to this very sorry situation that’s perpetrated by Natural phenomena, biased government policies and retrogressive cultural traditions.
As a result, I teamed up with well-wishers and discussed possible ways to mitigate these critical issues. We went to these communities and donated the little we could and I am happy that though we didn’t help everyone, at least we reached out to a few and transformed livelihoods.
